c. 1830s, Very Rare Osborne's Superfine American Watercolors Travel Set plates but it’s the folkiness of but it’s the folkiness of it manifested in the figure and lock shaped chain links that I love (I might guess American nodding to the Scandinavian manner of decoration on the bowl and handle though I think there were a couple of slightly early also patented iterations
